At Risk Fatherless Teenage Youth
Every summer, HopeWorks reaches out into the local community and hires at risk, inner city fatherless youth to work with us.
- Share with them the life-saving Gospel of Jesus Christ
- Mentor them how to have and keep a job
- Teach them the basics of the construction trades
- Provide opportunities for a construction career or encourage them to further their education
Over the course of six weeks, HopeWorks provides these youth with classroom instruction on the basics of the construction trades taught by local construction professionals. Our youth are given daily opportunities to use these newly developed construction skills by providing practical help on our widow’s homes. Perhaps the most impactful part of the program is the one-on-one Christian mentoring each youth will receive during their time with HopeWorks. Every day is started with a morning devotion presented by Christian men in the community. The HopeWorks staff continues this mentoring process throughout the day by using every opportunity to show the Bible’s relevance in their own personal lives.
